Project Brief & Context

The original house suffered from dark, low-ceiling corridors, fragmented rooms, and damp structural walls. Human Space conducted a careful surgical remodeling: removing non-structural load walls, introducing a steel-framed double-height clerestory skylight, and restoring ancestral timber rafters.

Design Concept

"'Dialogue Across Eras'—honoring the craftsmanship of the past while infusing structural lightness, state-of-the-art waterproofing, and contemporary thermal comfort."

Distinctive Architectural Elements

Preservation of ancestral wooden pillars with new reinforced concrete plinths

Introduction of a high-ceiling dining atrium beneath north-facing glass roof

Contemporary open-plan kitchen merging with an outdoor herb garden

Complete renewal of electrical, plumbing, and thermal insulation
